2025 End of the Year

Into the Indieweb

Heavily inspired by Hypnospace Outlaw I spiraled into browsing random Neocities pages. There's something very inspiring about people expressing themselves in different ways compared to contemporary web.

I also became tired of migrating from one platform to another just because terms of use or the overall climate has changed. I started to pay attention to how social media negatively affect me: being addicted to external validation, making self-censorship a constant habbit, etc.

And so I decided to make a website of my own. It took me a couple of days to learn the basics of html and css, some experimentation and then this place was made. Learning web development is fun and not as hard as it seems to be.

Leveling Up French

The second year of my french course was taking most of my spare time as my journey to understand my francophone colleagues continues. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it but it's a painful grind it's not an easy language to learn. But I'm proud of my achievements.

I'm currently stand around B1 orale level and it is fun to finally construct something but the most basic sentences. As a side effect, I understand English much better thanks to the enrichment of my french vocabular. It turns out many official words or complex sounding words in English is just a plain French.

But yeah, many thanks to my tutors for their patience and help. I will take a break from my classes for a bit, but I want to continue to push it to the B2 level.

Medialog

This year wasn't super rich on watched, player or read things as I was busy with work and studies but there are many highlights for sure!

Peak managed to create many memorable and bonding moments with my friends. The Beginner's Guide win the award for the best story for me this year and will definitely be closer to the top of my all time list. And Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, El Camino trilogy was great, I like every bit of it.

I also played some smaller games to discover joy in something simple and seek for inspiration to make my first attemts in video game making as well.

New Year Resolution

For the new year I want to learn to better focus on my projects and overall. I have a bad habit of starting many things and finishing none as my scope ballooning and my attention is all over the place.

Another thing I want is to build some self-confidence not based solely on how my achievements are being perceived by others (at least not to such a strong degree). As I find myself almost automatically trying to please my inner critic whose perception is based on the outside perspective, hence why ending up just not doing anything as it is impossible to please everyone.
