Playing Chibi-Robo

So I've finished playing Chibi-Robo and I liked it quite a lot.

The game follows a surprisingly touching story of a family that tends to quarrel over different things. In addition there are living toys and talking animals with their small substories that range from whimsy to unhinged.

The way each room is color coded is beautiful to look at.

Despite mentioning not so silly subjects (adulthood responsibilities, financial troubles, childhood anxiety and drug abuse) game never crosses the line where it's being offputting or edgy. It reminds me of late 90s cartoons where a bunch of jokes adults only understand can be smuggled in.

You may not experience as much freedom as your typical platformer character but that is what makes the game fun. It forces you to operate with "rodent logic" where simply get on top of a chair can be a climbing and logistical challenge. However the game never punishes you severely, resulting in a quite meditative and relaxing experience.

Every press of a button in this game feels like toying with a music box.

Overall it's an incredible game with unique presentation, fun gameplay and captivating story and I would recommend it to everyone.
